December Lotus.

This 2009 season has been hot and dry and consequently the ponds are very low.  The lotus still look lush and green but flowers have been rare.  The faithfull white lotus has bloomed at the studio.  Near the house the pink lotus has thrown it's first bud.  Meanwhile the Lotus Tree has many sweet centred flowers which tiny ants are attracted to like magnets.  The orchids have flowered and Canangra Odorata is covered in its sweetly scented blooms.  Of course we are enjoying lots of flowers on the Michellias, both white and yellow.
But all are longing for rain and for this mad drying wind to stop for awhile.  It's amazing how many trees and flowers have leapt into full bloom with all this sunshine.  In the forest the 'Snow Trees' are covered in blossom.
